Number Sense and Numeration	Reading and writing numbers to 1,000,000 Place value to 1,000,000 Expressing numbers in standard and expanded form Four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using 2, 3 and 4 digit numbers Comparing and ordering whole numbers Special types of numbers (odd/even, prime/composite) Rounding off whole numbers Order of operations Working with fractions- proper, improper, and mixed numbers HCF (Highest Common Factor) LCM ( Lowest Common Multiple) Four operations ( addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using fractions Fractions and decimals Place value system of decimals Rounding decimal numbers off Four operations ( addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) using decimals Introduction to percentage Working with percentages Introduction to ratio and proportion Working with ratios and proportions
Measurement	Read and write monetary values- extending knowledge to include values up to $10,000.00 Review concepts related to time Review concepts related to distance & speed Metric system units (linear, capacity & mass) Review of perimeter concepts Calculating perimeter of triangles, quadrilaterals, circles Review of area concepts Calculating area of triangles, quadrilaterals, circles Review of volume concepts Calculating volume of rectangular prisms
Geometry & Spatial Sense	Review of the terms and components that are used in geometry Review of the tools which are used in Geometry Angles: what an angle is, drawing & measure, classifications of angles Classifications of polygons Comparing geometric shapes and/or polygons- congruent and symmetrical Transformational geometry Introduction to the Cartesian plane Plotting coordinates in the first quadrant of the Cartesian plane
Patterning & Algebra	Mathematical relationships in number patterns Analyzing number patterns and identifying their ‘patterning’ rules Creating number pattern Concepts of algebra- variables, algebraic expressions, equations, and inequalities Solving simple equations and inequalities
Data Management & Probability	Data and statistics Graphing- types and their uses Interpreting graphs The concepts of probability Calculating the probability of an event’s occurrence
Problem Solving	The rationale for problem solving and the important role it plays in everyday life The processes required to solve problems The various strategies that can be used to solve problems- depending upon the type of the problem you are challenged with
