Reading Readiness
  • Hand-eye co-ordination: coloring, tracing and joining dots, shapes and objects
  • Visual discrimination: identifying, naming, matching and sorting colors, shapes, numbers, coins and pictures
  • Alphabet activities: naming and ordering upper and lower case letters
  • Phonics: beginning and ending sounds
  • Reasoning and critical thinking: predicting what will happen and remembering what has happened; sequencing events
Vocabulary Building
  • Measurement concepts and words: taller/shorter, bigger/smaller, heavier/lighter
  • Comparative concepts and words:same/different; more, less, and equal; what goes together
  • Rhyming words and nursing rhymes
  • Matching pictures and words, interpreting pictograms
